Resume

What this agent does

The Training & Certification Agent AI ensures that every LendingIQ employee with a compliance training obligation receives, completes, and is certified on the mandatory modules — PMLA awareness, Fair Practice Code, KYC/AML procedures, IT security, and regulatory updates triggered by new circulars — and that the CCO has a real-time view of certification completeness across the organisation. It replaces the manual compliance training manager with a systematic training delivery and tracking capability that makes 100% pre-inspection certification a default outcome rather than a last-minute scramble.

Primary functions

Mandatory Training Delivery

Per new joiner and annual renewal · role-based module assignment

Invoked when: a new joiner event is received from the HRMS, or an annual certification renewal date approaches for an existing employee

  • Assigns the role-appropriate training modules to each new joiner within 24 hours of their HRMS record being created — the PMLA awareness module and Fair Practice Code module are mandatory for all staff; the KYC/AML procedures module is mandatory for all client-facing and underwriting staff; the IT security awareness module is mandatory for all staff with system access. Role-specific modules are assigned based on the employee's department and function in the HRMS. The module assignment is automatic and deterministic — no manual intervention is required to ensure a new joiner receives the correct training package.
  • Sets a 30-day completion deadline for all initial training modules — a deadline that provides adequate preparation time while ensuring new joiners are certified before they are authorised to engage in activities that require training certification. Where a new joiner's onboarding timeline is compressed (a same-day start for a critical role), the agent flags the compressed deadline to the CCO for a risk-assessed exception rather than applying the standard 30-day window to a scenario where the deadline would fall after the employee has already been active in the role.
  • Manages annual certification renewals — identifying the employees whose certifications are expiring in the next 30 days, reassigning the relevant modules 30 days before expiry, and tracking completion before the expiry date. A lapsed certification is a compliance finding in an RBI inspection; the 30-day advance assignment ensures that employees have adequate time to complete the renewal without the certification lapsing.
Output: Training module assignments per new joiner — dispatched to LMS within 24 hours of HRMS event. Annual renewal assignments — dispatched 30 days before expiry. Completion deadline set per employee. Overdue assignments escalated to employee manager and CCO.

Certification Tracking

Continuous · real-time completion dashboard

Invoked continuously — dashboard updated in real time as completions are recorded in the LMS

  • Maintains a real-time certification completion dashboard — the current certification status of every employee for every mandatory training module, expressed as the completion rate by module and department. The dashboard is the CCO's primary tool for pre-inspection readiness assessment; an inspection-ready compliance programme requires 100% completion across all mandatory modules for all active employees. The dashboard shows the gap between the current position and the 100% target, with the specific employees and modules that are outstanding.
  • Sends escalating reminders to employees whose training is overdue — an automated reminder at 7 days before the deadline, a second reminder at 2 days before the deadline, and a manager notification at 1 day before the deadline. The manager notification is the final escalation before the deadline — placing the overdue certification on the manager's radar as a direct people management issue rather than a compliance department administrative matter.
  • Generates completion certificates for employees who finish their modules and passes the certification records to the compliance register — the permanent record that demonstrates to an RBI inspector that specific employees were certified on specific modules on specific dates. The certification register is stored in a format that can be produced for inspection at 24 hours' notice.
Output: Real-time certification dashboard — completion rates by module and department, outstanding certifications by employee. Weekly dashboard to CCO. Overdue reminders at 7-day, 2-day, and 1-day intervals. Certification records stored in the compliance register with date and module version.

Regulatory Quiz Delivery

Per new RBI circular · relevant staff within 5 business days

Invoked when: a new RBI circular is received — a quiz on the circular's key compliance requirements is dispatched to relevant staff within 5 business days

  • Generates a 5-question multiple-choice quiz from each new RBI circular — testing staff on the specific obligations, definitions, and procedures that the circular introduces or modifies. The quiz questions are drafted by the agent from the circular text and reviewed by the CCO before dispatch — the CCO's review is the quality gate that ensures the questions accurately reflect the circular's requirements and are appropriately calibrated for the target audience. The quiz is not an assessment of general regulatory knowledge; it is a targeted check that staff have read and understood the specific obligations in the new circular.
  • Routes the quiz to the relevant staff population based on the circular's subject matter — a credit-related circular goes to the underwriting and credit teams; a collections-related circular goes to the collections team; a circular with broad applicability goes to all staff. Routing is based on the department-function mapping in the HRMS; a circular tagged as broadly applicable triggers organisation-wide dispatch.
  • Records quiz completion and scores in the training register — alongside the module completions from the standard training programme. A regulatory quiz pass rate below 70% in a specific department indicates either that the quiz questions were poorly calibrated (a content issue) or that the staff in that department have not adequately absorbed the circular's requirements (a training effectiveness issue). Low pass rates are flagged to the CCO for review; remediation (a re-quiz or a targeted training session) is a CCO decision.
Output: Regulatory quiz per new circular — 5 questions, dispatched to relevant staff within 5 business days. CCO review gate before dispatch. Quiz completion and pass rate dashboard by department. Low pass rate alerts to CCO — below 70% pass rate flags for remediation review.

Knowledge base

Training Module Library — Approved Content

All mandatory training modules reviewed and approved by the CCO and relevant subject matter experts before activation. The agent assigns and tracks; it does not create or modify training content.

HRMS — Employee Records and Role Mapping

Employee names, departments, roles, and start dates — the source for new joiner training assignment and the role-function mapping that determines which modules each employee requires.

LMS — Completion and Certification Records

The system of record for module completions, quiz results, and certification dates. The source data for the certification dashboard and the compliance register.

RBI Circular Archive

New circulars used to generate regulatory quizzes — the quiz questions are derived from the circular text with CCO review before dispatch.

Compliance Calendar Agent AI — Annual Renewal Deadlines

Annual certification expiry dates fed into the compliance calendar — ensuring renewal assignments are triggered at the correct time each year.

Pre-Training — NBFC Compliance Training Knowledge

Mandatory training requirements for NBFCs, Fair Practice Code obligations, and PMLA training standards up to knowledge cutoff.

Hard guardrails

Will notWaive, defer, or reduce any mandatory training requirement without CCO approval. Training requirements are set by regulation or by LendingIQ's compliance programme — the agent tracks compliance with these requirements, it does not modify them.
Will notGenerate or dispatch regulatory quiz content without CCO review. The quiz questions are drafted by the agent and reviewed by the CCO before dispatch — an unreviewed quiz that misrepresents a regulatory requirement could mislead staff about their compliance obligations.
Will notAssess overall competency or make any input into HR decisions. Training completion is a compliance tracking function; competency assessment and HR decisions are management functions that are entirely outside this agent's scope.
Will notMark a training module as complete without a recorded completion event in the LMS. The agent does not override LMS completion records — a self-certification by a manager that an employee has received training is not a valid completion record unless the completion is recorded in the LMS with a date and module version.

Known limitations

The regulatory quiz is generated from the circular text — it tests whether staff have understood the words in the circular, not whether they have understood the practical implications for their day-to-day work. A staff member who passes the quiz may not yet know how to apply the circular's requirements in a specific edge case they will encounter in their role.Supplement the automated quiz with a facilitated discussion session for circulars with significant practical implications — where the CCO or a compliance officer walks through the implications with the affected team. The quiz is the comprehension check; the discussion is the application check.
The training module content is static between CCO-approved updates — it does not automatically reflect changes in regulatory guidance that occur after the module was last updated. Staff who complete a module that was last updated 18 months ago may receive outdated information on a topic that has since been subject to new RBI guidance.Establish an annual module review cycle — the CCO reviews each mandatory module once per year against the current regulatory position and approves any required updates. Modules that are more than 18 months old without a review are flagged to the CCO as potentially outdated.
